Bright Visions or the Gold Diggings

Kerchief, printed in sepia and red on white cotton, with eight illustrations accompanied by rhyming verses extolling the good fortune awaiting a gold seeking family brave enough to set sail for the Port Phillip district.  In fact, few emigrants returned to England having made their fortune like the family shown here.  Also,  the goldfields were almost entirely populated by single men: family groups like this were rare.
