The Melbourne and Hobson’s Bay United Railway Company's Pier

In 1853 the privately owned Melbourne and Hobson's Bay Railway Company constructed Australia's first railway to service the huge volume of emigrants and freight, disembarking at the Hobson's Bay Pier, Sandridge (now Port Melbourne).
