A record of a town

The State Rivers and Water Supply Commission were given the responsibility of moving the town of Tallangatta to its new location.  They documented the process and later deposited their photographic archive, as a long term loan, with the State Library of Victoria.   This is a page from an album which visually records the streets, the architecture and many of the interiors of private houses and local businesses.  This page shows the Hume cafe, Farrant bootmakers and Kendall's machinery agent.
