Gold buyer, the market price discussed

The image shows a gold buyer weighing gold while a digger looks on with a dissatisfied expression. Various supplies and utensils, lie scattered around the shop: the digger is probably buying these with his gold.

The gold buyer's expression indicates a certain smugness as he controls what the digger will receive for his find. The buyer's clothes are much finer than those of the digger, suggesting he does well out of the efforts of diggers on the fields.
