Inquest into child’s death

The numerous mine shafts on the diggings posed a dangerous hazard not only to children, but also to adults - particularly those walking at night. Injuries and deaths from falling down a hole were common. Today, bushwalkers need to exercise caution in this terrain for the same reason.
