Chinese Miner’s Right

After the Eureka Stockade, and the Report from the commission into the state of the goldfields, the miners licence was replaced with a miner's right.  It could be purchased at the very affordable, annual cost of £1 per annum.  The cost fluctuated over the years. In 1881, Yooh Woon, a Chinese miner at Ballarat, purchased this right at a cost of 5 shillings.
