The German settlement at Mt Rouse

This reporter praises the industriousness of the quiet, christian, German settlers who, rather unusually, had taken up residence in the Mt Rouse area. He closes his article with a racist remark consistent with the times preferring the presence of 'Helvetian' immigrants (Helvetia is the classical name for Switzerland ) over 'Celestial' (Chinese) immigrants.
