Recruits still needed

Newspaper articles like this praised the large numbers of men enlisting in the armed forces, but avoided the suggestion that this would ever be enough. This article also points out that many of the enlistments were not for combat roles: the army also needed cooks, electricians, bootmakers, as well as bookbinders, batmen (servants) and waiters.
