Image study: A Strange Apparition

Newspaper illustrators weren't always as factual as Carrington. At times, illustrations were used to add to the wonder of Kelly and his life. Unlike Carrington's stark image of Kelly battered from gunshots to his helmet, the caption of Curtis's image suggests Kelly was unfazed by the shots and led ‘a charmed life'.
