Image study: Route of Burke and Wills on a map of Australia

This is a photograph of a glass lantern slide used by accompany a lecture, "Exploration and Development of Australia", given by the photographer's father, lithographer Clarence Woodhouse. Glass lanterns were an early form of projector used from the 1850s into the 20th Century, when they were largely replaced by smaller and more durable slides.
