Image study: Pioneers of the 8 Hours Movement

Although James Stephens is generally recognised as the first man in Victoria to agitate for a shorter working day, many men and women contributed to the cause, and this piece commemorates more than 50 such people. Here, Stephens isn't singled out for glory, but rather depicted as one of many contributors.
